A multi?region and open?source <scp>computational fluid dynamic</scp> tool for electrochemical systems with three?dimensional electrodes

چکیده

In this work, a solver, implemented in OpenFOAM, is developed to investigate the mechanisms of ion transport through activated or resistive three-dimensional (3D) electrodes, and also leakage currents case bipolar connection. The model, which accounts for balance mass, momentum, species, electric charge fluid, 3D solid phases, was solved using multi-region approach. algorithm permits calculations fixed cell potential difference, current flowing under galvanostatic control. Analytical models experimental results distribution are compared with present tool, obtaining close agreement between them. model presented here supplied as free source code can be employed optimize both stack design system operation conditions.
